Native American Day at Fenway Park

Yesterday was Native American Day at Fenway Park ending culture week for the Boston Red Sox. They wanted to spend the week recognizing the cultures that their players come from. Jacoby Ellsbury, the Sox Center Fielder, is half Navajo and a lot of members of our family flew to Boston to represent. It was also a special day because Jacoby and I's cousin, Shawna Becenti, sang the national anthem before the Sox played the Yankees. She was going to sing the anthem in Navajo, but at the last minute, the Sox management asked her to sing it in English and then sing a Navajo Flag song in Navajo. She did a wonderful job and I wish I could've been there to cheer her and Jacoby on! I'm glad several family members were able to go and support them. Here's some pics from their trip that they sent me, and here's a link to an article from the Navajo Times. http://www.navajotimes.com/news/041708ellsburysinger.php
